Dr. Tarek Soliman Aboutable is a senior ophthalmology consultant with special interest in vitreoretinal surgery, diabetic eye diseases and cataract surgery.

He Graduated with honors from 1st Faculty of Medicine Charles University in Prague in 1999 when he started his residency and fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery in the University Hospital in Prague.

In 2005, Dr. Tarek achieved Doctorate of Philosophy from Charles University in Diabetic retinopathy in which he has internationally published research papers.

Furthermore, he attended training in Morefields Eye Hospital in London and completed his Vitreoretinal fellowship in King's College Hospital of London in 2007. He worked as a consultant in Liverpool Royal Hospital and Devon & Exeter Hospital.


In 2007, Dr. Tarek was the first Czech ophthalmology consultant to achieve prestigious exam of European Bored of ophthalmology in Paris and was honored by Czech ophthalmic Society.


Since 2009 Dr. Tarek has been working as a vitreoretinal consultant in the eastern part of KSA and in Bahrain in Dhahran Eye Specialist Hospital, Ibn Rushed Eye Center and Almana General Hospital. 

He is very confident in treating local difficult pathology of severe diabetic eye complication by laser, intraocular injections, and sutureless vitrectomy under local anesthesia on day surgery unit.


Diagnosis, Treatment & Management of:

  • Retinal detachment
  • Sutureless cataract surgery by phacoemulsification and implantation of intraocular lens including multifocal lenses under topical Anastasia.
  • Regular retinal screening for diabetic patients.
  • General ophthalmology diseases
